Where the Hell have you been slack ass?!?!

Alright... alright... sorry it takes time you know...yeesh! Let's see where to begin...Oh yes I know I went to a couple of high school productions a while back, one was a musical at St. Macs called "Grease", I really enjoyed it. It was amazing to see the finished product of all the hard work that went into that show, for me the only down side was that at times I could not hear what was being said or sung even with the microphones, sometimes the band simply overpowered the scene. I also went to Saint John High Schools evening of one act plays and monologues. I really enjoyed the show. One monologue in particular captured me as the student made nice transitions with emotion and had beautifully altered the pace of her dialogue to allow the audience to "feel" what she was saying. The play with the fellows playing the old men was quite nicely done and actually Scott M's play was very nicely done also I thought. All in all an enjoyable evening.

The following weekend I got my Karaoke fix...yeah baby! It was livingroom Karaoke at my friends place and I had a really super time, Mary was with me and it was cool to see her try a bunch of different songs and raunch out a bit, great friends great times. We got home quite late and there was a phone message for me which I knew had to mean very sad news. I called in the morning and my instincts were confirmed that a close childhood friend same age as me had died, no warnings he just dropped and couldn't be revived. My next blog I am going to write as a sort of dedication/grievance as I realize all the places that I revisited because of his passing on. More on that soon.

On an up note I am really looking forward to seeing Sight Unseen.

On the exercise front I played badminton (doubles) on Monday night a week ago today, felt really good overall. I am going to try to get to that every second week again. A couple of days later I had Mary drop me off along the road before we got home, so I could walk, she measured the distance with the car odometer and I had walked 3.6 kilometers, without stopping which for me ,right now, is challenging. So it is a start. I am a little bit excited as to where this exercise thing might lead me.

I will be posting my weight the middle of each month to record my progress or lack there of.

On February 15, 2006 I weighed in at 252 pounds.

Gilbert,
Where do you play badminton? Is it an open sort of thing?

Hi Dan,
I play badminton at the Hillcrest Baptist Church on the West Side. It is every Monday Evening at 7pm and costs 2 bucks. There are 3 courts and they always play doubles and probably get around 20 people or so. Some are beginners and some are very competitive but all in all a good crowd. It is open to the public so you don't need a membership of any kind. If you are interested let me know, I intend to go this Monday coming.
